Her cousin explained, "It was my brother who helped Daddy decide. There are o nly veterans here." "The legacy of heroes..." "Well, actually, I don't think Daddy would have called himself a hero. It wasn't what he had planned. He wanted to get a PHD. But he was drafted. He could have gotten out of it, having a college degree. But everyone of his generation felt obligated to do something.
