In August the children played Indians. Erik wanted to build an Indian teepee. I suggested that he first making a drawing of what it should look like. This is Erik's drawing of a teepee. He wanted to make one - lifesize. He ended up making one using bed clothes, chairs and a step-ladder. Anna

A not so Wordless Wednesday

A happy cut-throat! I almost regret signing up for, "NaBloPoMo", this "vow", this "oath, that I have taken to write a post every day for the next thirty days. 'I need this like a hole in my head', I thought to myself this morning, as I bicycled to our son's school to go to a meeting at the principal's office. Erik does not recognise all the letters of the alphabet. But he can talk about a wide range of subjects that the other seven-year-olds don't have a clue about. If his ability to read and write does not improve soon, they will start testing him for dyslexia. Is Erik really dyslectic? Or is he just lazy and lacks good study-habits? This is one of several problems that won't go away. 'Why did I promise to write every day for thirty days?' I thought to myself, ' No one will read it!'
