Image
Welcome to Saturday Centus, Week 71, Mrs. Jenny Matlock's writing challenge, where participants are asked to write a PG-rated text to a given written prompt, in any style or genre of writing, a picture is allowed, and using only up to 100 words (or several 100-word posts), not counting the three words in the prompt. This is week 71 and the prompt is: 'Mother May I ' ------ My poem follows here: Mother May I? Mother may I play with blocks? Oops, I 've taken off my socks! Mother may I have a candy, I'll brush my teeth just fine and dandy? Mother must I go to school? Yes, I will learn the golden rule. Mother may I travel far? I really want to be a star! Mother may I kiss this boy? He's my life, he is my joy! Mother will you pray with me, When nightmares will not let me be? Mother will you close my eyes, When all is quiet, both pain and cries? Mother, tell me, will I always be loved, By you and the Lord in Heaven, above? ------ Word count according to WordCalc : ...

Monday's Child # 38

Image
Tea Party Illustration by Fernando Falcone This is Monday' Child # 38 : ------ To be a fly on the wall at this tea-party! The March Hare, the Hatter and the Dormouse all sat at a table laid for tea. It was a very large table, but the three were crowded together and cried 'No room!' Alice sat down next to the March Hare. The Hatter sang: Twinkle, twinkle, little bat! How I wonder what you're at. Up above the world you fly, Like a tea-tray in the sky. The March Hare and Hatter end up trying to stuff the Dormouse into the tea-pot. Alice left the Tea-Party and found the Queen's Coquet-Ground. ------ Best wishes, Anna First commenter: xxx To read other texts for this writing-challenge with a picture-prompt, please go to Monday's Child here or click on the image below. Monday's Child # 37

Image
Illustration by Clara Burd This is Monday' Child # 37 : ------ Clara stretched as much at she could to reach up to the hanging flower-pot over at the neighbours, the Robertsons. The basket holding the pot with the peach-coloured begonias was knocked off the hook and fell down. Now, Clara had to try to replace it. But it was hopeless, as she was too short. She knocked on the door and waited. After several very long minutes, the door opened and Mrs. Robertson said: 'Why Clara, what are you doing here?' "I'm sorry Mrs. Robertson. I tried to find the key and the basket fell down." 'That's alright, dear. Let me help you. There. Come in and have some milk and cake!' ------ Best wishes, Anna First commenter: Ann of Ann's Snap, Edit & Scrap To read other texts for this writing-challenge with a picture-prompt, please go to Monday's Child here or click on the image below.
