My earrings have arrived! Hooray! I'm so happy! Thank you Tara! The earrings came save and sound, well-packed in their bubble-mailer, yesterday! Aren't they pretty?! Beautifully made in every detail and a very good size. Look at my hand and you how right they are in size. I just love them! Tara makes fantastic pieces of jewellery out of, not just sea shells, but sea-glass and shards of pottery. They are artifacts first polished by the sea and then made into stunning adornments by Tara's beautiful sterling silver framework! Ten years ago today Cajsa Cat gave birth to six kittens. I just took this photo now. Sara is sitting sunning herself in her garden behind the garage. All six survived and five went to good forever-homes. We kept Sara Cat because I fell in love with her. Happy Birthday Sara! This shot is from a week ago when Sara was under the roof over the ladders where the cats often take refuge from the rain. Today, June 6th, is Sweden's national holiday (earlier called "Svenska flaggans dag" / "Flag-Day"). To honour this beautiful country, where I have my home and my deepest roots, I would like to show my lastest beaded bracelet, that has the same colours as the Swedish flag. One very important jewellery S-word that I did not have time to include in my S-post is Seed beads ! Photo courtesy of Yvonne Stark of Stark Design Seed beads are small glass beads that can be used as spacers (beads between other larger beads) or woven into cuffs or sewn on clothes like sequins . There are alot of beaders that use seed beads. Seed beads come in different sizes such as 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14 and 15. The larger the size-number the smaller the bead! Size 15 is tiny, only 1.3mm in diameter, while size 6 is 3.3mm in diameter! Yvonne Stark (also an S-word) is a Swedish designer that makes beautiful pieces of beaded jewellery and accessories using seed beads.
